Aaron Gemmell's Honda Civic - StanceDaily

I have followed Aaron's build now since early 2014 after first seeing it at Incarnation with his brother Perry alongside, so it was finally time to shoot the feature of his car after taking a number of photos at car shows.

Aaron’s Civic stands out from a lot of others in the UK Jap scene, for starters he is running a Rayvern hydraulic system. This can obviously allow the car to be very low when parked up. This suspension is completed with some Buddy Club camber arms for the front and Skunk 2 camber arms for the rear. This is all paired up with strut & chassis braces.

As you may have noticed from the registration plate on Aaron’s car, he is running a set of CCW alloys & also a B18 engine. The D11L wheels fit perfectly and they suit the clean style of the car and sit on the arches while running some stretch.

Behind the wheels you may notice some Integra Type R 282/262 calipers. These calipers are completed with some black diamond grooved discs with Ferodo ds2500 pads.

We all know that speed is no use without great stopping power, luckily Aaron has both. In the engine bay there’s a B18C4 engine block with a Precision Turbo alongside. A lot of pipe work has been completed on Aaron’s car. The manifold & downpipe finished by BWR & the exhaust system completed by Street Function Garage. There’s a Tial waste gate & blow off valve in there too.

You may notice there’s quite a bit of space in there due to the tucking that has been completed. A Bolts Bolts fuel filter tuck, Street Function Garage have tucked the brake and clutch lines. There is an OEM rocker cover which also has a carbon port cover, there’s a S2000 clutch master cylinder which has been polished and there are a number of Bolts Bolts small details to finish it all off.

Along with power & handling, you car needs to be able to put down the power it puts out. Aaron has put a stage 4 clutch in his S9B gearbox with an Action Clutch lightened flywheel. The gearbox mounts have been polybushed and can change gears with the Integra Type R short shifter and linkage.

As you can see, the bodywork on Aaron’s Civic is very clean. To get it to this stage, there’s a Mugen front lip, EK9 rear lip, EK9 grille and a rear EK9 number plate recess. Some smoothing has been carried out on the front wings, front bumper and roof aerial. The whole car has been resprayed and colour coded in OEM Aqua Mint Opel. The bodywork has been finished off with a rear carbon Spoon spoiler. Aaron has carried out some lighting modifications too. There’s a JDM rear light conversion and he is running a Bolts Bolts USDM sidelight conversion kit.

One area of the car I’m keen on is the interior. There is a great amount of attention to detail, amazing seats it’s very comfortable. Up front there are a set of Recaro CS sportster seats & the rear bench is from an EK9. All of this has been custom retrimmed too.

There’s a smoothed EK9 dash retrimmed by Lavish Automotive with a double din Pioneer unit powering the audio. There are 2 Kicker subwoofers in the rear & Hertz 3 way speakers & 6×9” speakers powered by a JBL GTO amps. The headlining and pillars have all also been retrimmed in alcantara. To finish off the interior there is a Royal ‘Blackwood’ steering wheel with an NRG snap off.

Aaron takes his cars to a fair few shows, so if you haven’t seen enough already and would like to see it in person then pop along too Japshow / Players or Stance Fever and you will be able to see it for yourself. To finish off the photos here’s a couple with some smoke bombs!
